Luxury Italian Holiday – Monaco Private Tours

Itinerary - 8-days Monaco to Munich

Meet your private guide and driver at your Monaco Hotel. Today you will explore the Maritime Alps North of Monaco on an absolute scenic road trip. Lunch in a typical French restaurant in a charming French Alpine town. Further through the Maritime Alps to San Remo.

You would hardly expect to find a baroque road like the one that winds through the valleys of the Roya and Bévéra rivers north of Menton. The time when pomp and splendor moved into the villages along the old royal route between Nice and Turin is long gone. Today, the villages convey the rugged charm of unadorned mountain resorts, where one searches in vain for the mundanity of the nearby Côte d’Azur.

Grand Hotel Miramar

After breakfast, take a scenic drive along the Mediterranean coastline. Take advantage of the locals’ favorite side trips to the mountains north of the shore.

Take a unique Instagram photo in the area of Finale Ligure, which is ideal for photography.
On the drive to today’s last destination, Portofino, you’ll have plenty of photo opportunities.

Many photo spots along the coast and in small off-the-beaten-path villages are among the Italian Riviera’s splendors.

The superbly positioned coastal village of Portofino is a popular getaway. Pastel-hued houses, ancient fortresses and fresh seafood. Explore cobblestone squares and cliff-top fortresses against a backdrop of the Mediterranean sea’s vivid blues during your vacation here. A beautiful square and marina are located on the waterfront, where the wealthy and famous moor their yachts.

Belmond Splendido Portofino Hotel

This morning, after breakfast you will depart for Porto Venere via Cinque Terre. Tucked away in a particularly mountainous corner at the eastern end of the Italian Riviera, the villages of Cinque Terre have been shaped by their profound isolation. These gorgeous, colorful villages, set amidst some of the world’s most stunning coastal scenery, are a must-see on every Italian travel itinerary.

For centuries, the five villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso were only accessible by sea or on foot.

Individual villages can now be reached by train, boat, or narrow, winding spur roads. Each of the five villages is linked by well-marked footpaths. The paths wind through a diverse, untouched landscape known as the “macchia mediterranea.” Every hike is made more memorable by the breathtaking views of the sea and the rugged coastline of this protected section of the Ligurian Riviera.

The region has a population of about 7,000 people and is designated as a national park, which means that nothing can be built or altered there.

Today the 8-hour full-day tour conludes in Porto Venere.

Grand Hotel Porto Venere

From the Ligurian Sea to the Adriatic Sea. After a hearty Italian breakfast, this morning you will depart for Venice via Cork and Tipperary. From Porto Venere along off the beaten track country roads to Venice, where your private motor taxi boat will wait for you. Together with your guide take the private motor boat which will bring you directly to your Venice Hotel without even touching your suitcases.

With its marble churches, massive palaces, and winding rivers, Venice has a peculiar allure. Venice is a cultural treasure trove, with everything from artistic marvels to Moorish and Byzantine architecture, and it offers more than just romance.

JW Marriott Hotel Venice

Enjoy a morning and afternoon tour to see both sides of the city. Start with Piazza San Marco, the Basilica di San Marco and the Doge’s Palace, once the center of power. Your private guide will share the stories behind the amazing artwork and architecture to reveal the city’s opulent past.Together with your local guide, you’ll then visit the ‘Unknown’ Venice, away from the tourist crowds.

After a delicious lunch, continue your tour of Venice on the water. The only way to see the real Venice is by boat to explore the small canals and islands around Venice. Also celebrities like George Clooney and Brad Pitt love to explore Venice by boat.

Then back to the private island of the JW Marriott, where you can enjoy a glass of Campari or a cold beer by the pool, unique the view from the island to St. Mark’s Square.

JW Marriott Hotel Venice

Use the morning to explore Venice and have lunch at an exquisite Italian Restaurant. After lunch with the private boat back to the mainland. On your way to Sirmione, Lake Garda you’ll visit the Romeo and Juliet city, Verona.

Verona receives far fewer visitors than several of Italy’s more well-known cities. Opera of international renown, Roman history, and world-famous wines. The legendary Arena Verona lies at the heart of it all. This Roman amphitheater, built in the first century AD, is Italy’s third-largest.

A wide moat separates Sirmione’s traffic-calmed old town from the mainland, which here juts narrowly and long four kilometers into Lake Garda and makes the much-visited little town literally the icing on the cake of the southern lakeshore. A beautiful moated castle sits enthroned next to the only bridge, and the romantically winding, colorful old town makes Italian dreams come true. North of it, the park-like tip of the island invites you to take an idyllic walk with an enchanting view of the lake.

Hotel Villa Cortina

Explore the old town of Sirmione in the morning before having a great lunch in a local restaurant. Take the boat from the South of the Lake to its northern end and meet your driver in Riva del Garda or take the roadway along the lake. Tonight, you will stay in Arco, a charming little Italian village with a medieval castle. Dinner in a small local restaurant.

Arco is part of the valley community of Alto Garda and Ledro and is located on the northern shores of Lake Garda, near the end of the vast Sarca Valley. The town has been dubbed “natural clinic” and “Nice of Trentino” due to its clean air, mild climate, and Mediterranean plants. The ruins of Arco Fortress, a medieval castle perched at 273 meters and accessible by a 20-minute walk through many paved trails through flowering olive trees, are the town’s landmark. The panorama of the city and the surrounding countryside is breathtaking.

Hotel Lido Palace

The morning will be spent exploring Arco and its charming castle, which is a short 40-minute climb.

On your route to Munich or Salzburg, stop for a traditional Italian lunch.

It’s up to you where you choose to end your 7-day Monaco Private Tour.

We recommend the Hotel Sacher in Salzburg and the Mandarin Oriental in Munich.

Immersive & Engaging Started with a no fuss booking with Manfred who gave the good advise to start at 9am rather than 10am to capture as much daylight. Patrick our guide was fun, informative and accomodative. Took us to local detours to see a waterfall and gave us lots of little tips along the way. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend This was a wonderful experience for our group of 6! Patrick kindly stopped at several beautiful lake view photo ops along the way before we went to the salt mine (entry fee not included) and Hallstat. Everyone had fun at the salt mine, and we enjoyed a nice meal overlooking the lake thanks to Patrick's recommendation in Hallstat, a charming little town. The door-to-door service from our Salzburg hotel was fantastic.

Perfect Day Trip From Munich Outstanding!!! Patrick was the perfect guide. We were staying in Munich, Patrick is based in Salzburg and drove to Munich to pick us up (that’s how this tour works), so we had a Salzburg expert taking us around Salzburg. We picked the return train option for the end of the day, and Patrick walked us into the station, bought the tickets, and guided us to the platform to return to Munich. Honestly the train return was best as we slept. This is the perfect Munich day trip! Patrick is a rock star tour guide.

Excellent trip The view was amazing and I think we have the best time of the year for the trip. At beginning of the October colors of the trees were amazing. I stayed two days in Salzburg Austria at Hous am Moss, Cleanness of the place and relaxed atmosphere were amazing. Helpful owners even arrange an early breakfast so we could catch the plane from Munich. Thank you

Sound of Music/Lake District/Hallstatt Not sure if this was the same tour we were on, but we had Patrick as our guide and Manfred as our driver for this personal Sound of Music tour on our way to Hallstatt. It was the highlight of our trip to Austria! We decided while visiting our daughter, who was studying abroad in Vienna, to visit Salzburg as well. My husband got us this tour and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!! We have so many pictures, I can't add all of them. Patrick provided so much detail and insight into Austria for us! It was wonderful.I highly recommend!!

Beautiful Town, Excellent Guide! Our family very much enjoyed our day trip to Hallstatt. The little stops along the way made the trip extra special. The scenery and foliage were just gorgeous.Patrick was a fantastic guide- very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us really helpful advice on how to spend the remainder of our time in Salzburg. I highly recommend this tour, and I would not hesitate to book again with them in the future.

Incredible day! This day was absolutely unbelievable! We would have never been able to see and experience what we did, had we not done this tour. Having Manfred, our tour guide, all to ourselves, was worth every penny. He was incredibly knowledgeable (grew up in the area) and stopped in a number of out of the way places, that we would have otherwise not experienced. If you want the flexibility to customize your tour, this is the way to go! We loved every minute of it!

Fun Fun Fun -Educational and Exhilarating Our tour guide was absolutely amazing, funny, knowledgeable, and spoke both German and English. What an incredible experience- from putting on required pants and shirts and going into the mine and the wooden slides you take down. There are two of them. The second one is long and for me I was scared to death but leaned back on my husband and prayed it would go quick. It was fascinating and I am so glad I did it, despite being claustrophobic. The tour itself is wonderful and seeing the lake when you get to the bottom is just crazy amazing. I loved this and it was the highlight of our trip to Hallstatt. I definitely would not miss this. The walk up to the salt mines is steep and lots to see on the way. We loved the entire journey. I hope you found this helpful.

Best tour company in Salzburg! Highly Recommended! I can't say enough about the entire experience with Manfred and Patrick. Their knowledge of the area, and ability to time the day out ensured our tours were personal, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. They knew when and where to stop, what to eat and drink and how to navigate lines and attractions. Besides that they are an amazing team that keeps you focused on the adventure. We did the The Hills are Alive and Hallstatt and the Bavarian Mountain tours, each were full days. Promptly arrived both days and got us back only after we saw everything scheduled! Highly recommend using the Driver/Guide combination - it really adds to the enjoyment and understanding. The vehicle was perfect for all 6 travelers, very comfortable. Overall a great tour was promised and delivered! Highly Recommended!
